The US Karuta Network was founded in June of 2023 by Ara Mahar and Betsy Rock. We’re a volunteer group of US-based Karuta players whose goal is to sustain and grow Competitive Karuta in the United States.
Our major areas of focus are:
New Player Recruitment
・Reach new/interested players through various platforms
・Provide information and resources to new players
Karuta Groups
・Collaborate with and support existing groups
・Help new groups to form
Community Building
・Provide community and resources for players living far from established groups
・Facilitate collaboration between existing groups/players (both domestic and international)
Information/Resource Sharing
・Provide information about Karuta rules, groups, events (etc.) through various platforms
・Tool sharing and tool creation
